Program launched at Lincoln
Elementary School on October 24, 2001.
· Meals are professionally
prepared; then served by Rotary and other volunteers every Tuesday, Wednesday,
and Thursday, 5:30-6:15.
· The number of children
and adults served October 24, 2001 through May 1, 2002, total over 600,
averaging 14 per day.
· Donations received to
date exceed $6,000. $2,000 of which came from a Rotary International
grant.
· 40 Rotarians have volunteered
over 250 hours of their time.
· Received certification
from the Good Shepherd Food Bank to purchase bulk food at an average cost
of 14 cents per pound. This will dramatically reduce the cost of
this program.

Stewart, Director of Nutrition Barbara Raymond and Kitchen Manager Rachel
Childs are the driving force behind the success of this program at Lincoln
Elementary.
