About the Ride
Read Ride Progress Reports
We are currently conducting
a PolioPlus Publicity Ride around Australia
in May 2003
Bill McKenna, a Paramedic,
member of the Rotary Club of Augusta, District 7790 Rotarian
leaves April 24th, meeting up with Bob and his troop:
his wife Patty, Jon, and Walter, from District 5180 at LAX.
After landing in Brisbane,
we will motorcycle south and west, around
Australia, and Tazmania conducting PolioPlus Press Conferences for
and with the local clubs, raising awareness, and soliciting contributions
to Rotary’s PolioPlus Project. As we near the deadline of 2005 eradication,
increasing of contributions becomes most important. WE feel that our
different approach of calling attention to the messengers will allow
the message to be delivered once again with a different reception.
The Trek will end at the opening
of the Intrernational Convention in Brisbane June1.
